Hello again,
So yet another edit is in progress to appease our demanding overlords. *Cough* lecturers *Cough*. Great progress is being made and the preliminary animations and readjusted models can be utilized with minor adjustments to suit new material of course.
We are putting in the extra time now and sleep has become optional. We are so close we are virtually there. With just some colour correction, dynamic shadowing, proper scene placement correction and rednering to do we are almost done.
Success is on it's way!

Again....
Hi all,
Much deliberation and catchings of the pursuit of perfection is in order at the current point of time and as we approach the last week, we look back at how determined and resolute we have been. We need such things as we strive to iron our wills once more to progress through this disheartening venture. Reshooting, recutting and re-matching have been the blade's edge by which we are hastening to sharpen. Just one more week and freedom is nigh.
By the way here are some screenshots of the extensive cutting of Materia Take-2
I will leave you with a prancing skellington to brighten your day

The Proverbial Pointy End
Hello All,
Joyous times as we approach the finishing side of all thing s involved in the film project 'Materia'. It has been a long and arduous journey at times. One may draw comparisons to the epic plight of slave fighters in a Roman Colosseum perhaps. Or maybe that is pushing it really....
Although we have been hampered by the unrelenting struggle that is student life to piece this together, we have a somehow of a completed product, which is helpful as it is presentation day. Stars coming into alignment and all that...
Here are some screens of a) the joy that is rendering hd visuals and b) our finished renders in drop box for the group to share.

It has been awhile but that happens, busy schedule, life and all that....
Moving on from excuse or whatever one may wish to compose together. Our group has done mountains of work in this time, filming has been and done and gone with little too no problems. Several interruptions caused some unforeseen consequences however these were easier resolved. Colour correcting, keying, adding mattes and general themes is the order for myself, whilst Andrew diligently applies 'rigging' to a tree models, Martin works out the animating elements, Cairnghan continues with modelling and applying some plates for replacement footage. Without much ado boys and grills here is some screenshots from the weeks of editing, cutting and colour correcting:

Back again......
It has been awhile since I updated, but hey that's life and all that. Been busy at work finalising all the pre-production juicy bits and a shooting schedule as production comes under way next week. Actor selected, shooting will commence on Tuesday. Tomorrow will hopefully be the unveiling of our animatic and we can all have a fair idea of plans to come. Getting more and more knowledgeable about all things 3d as this progresses and by the end of the production (fingers crossed) we can pump out some pretty decent work. Till next time Children of Earth......

1st Round
Progress has commenced!
In only a short handful of weeks a group project of most epic and dizzyingly proportions will be undertaken. The Task is rife with hazards both internally and of course the dreaded critiques of others. However with all that juicy golden togetherness that is team work we intend on making the miles.
The last three weeks have possessed that strange airy perception of floating into the oncoming void. The minds of that of myself and my three respective compatriots; Andrew, Martin and Cairnaghn has been bombarded between with the reality of our task and the short falling of our own limited time and skills.
Ever the keen drawing artist Cairnaghn has sketched several very early introspective images of our main component of our project: that of an eerie, twisted and not entirely trustworthy supernatural tree. I myself have delved into what the exact essence of our piece is; by attempting to garner together potential shots and environments to which we can utilise. Two drafts of the script have been written and hopefully will provide a good launching point for our horror-story to be. Andrew and Martin have pushed themselves into the interesting world of 3d rigging and are keen at work studying movements of real objects and people to provide a backdrop of what is to come. The dynamic duo have also been on hand to provide insight and resolve to that old-trustworthy team environment.
Here are some early images of the stated work:
